Biochemistry subject was established in the year 1973 at Yashwantrao Chavan College of science,Karad.It is established as interdisciplinary subject under Chemistry department.Biochemistry provides the knowledge of the chemical subsances and processes that occur in living beings during development of life.Department conducts short term courses that provides knowledge about analytical techniques that will help them in handling the instruments and apply in future career.Provides excellent effective classroom,Powerpoint presentations whenever needed for better understanding of students related to subject.Good laboratory facilities are provided that develop practical skills in the students.Laboratory facilities like instrument room,balance room and various instruments such as spectrophotometer,colorimeter,pH meter etc. are provided.Seminars are conducted so that students may develop self-confidence.Blood group testing,blood glucose level test such basic clinical test are taken during course so that they get basic knowledge about clinical biochemistry.Students are motivated to participate in various activities.Industrialvisit,study tours are held for the students.Students are encouraged to participate in advance seminar,workshops.
