NATIONAL CADET CORPS (NCC)
With the motto of `UNITY AND DISCIPLINE’, the NCC organisation was established in the country in 1948. The aim of this activity is to develop qualities of character, courage, comradeship, leadership, secular outlook, spirit of adventure and the ideals of selfless service among youth and to create a human resource of organised, trained and motivated youth that can take leadership in all walks of life.
The unit of our college was started in 1962 and Notable achievements of this unit till date are:
  • Several cadets from our unit have been selected into the three wings of the defence services as officers and other ranks.
  • Some cadets hold many administrative posts in central and State government offices.
  • Many cadets have actively participated in Republic Day camps in Delhi, centrally organised camps such as the Thal Sainik camp – New Delhi, Nau Sainik camp in Vishakhapatnam, National Integration camps, Rock climbing camps, attachment camps with army units, Leadership camps, Parasailing camps, etc at several places.
  • Several cadets have received best Cadet awards of Shivaji University, Kolhapur, Chief Minister’s Scholarships, Cadet welfare Society Scholarships, etc.
  • Our cadets have consistently been winning prizes in rifle shooting competitions over the years.
